We love to hear feedback from our guests and appreciate them taking the time to spread the word about Ar Fasgadh.
It is fabulous to see so many of our guests becoming good friends and returning year after year.
We are delighted they love Arran as much as we do.

What an incredible place to stay! I cannot fault it in any way at all. Gerry and Susan were so welcoming from the start and communication was brilliant. It was lovely to be met by Gerry and shown around on our arrival. The house has everything you possibly need and more. I challenged myself to find something it didn't have and failed miserably. It is so child friendly and has everything there to keep them entertained both at the house and out and about. I cannot fault the facilities and it was spotless on arrival. The welcome gifts were a lovely touch too. Thank you for a fantastic base for a great family holiday.

We have had a great holiday this summer. Being greeted by Gerry and Susan and their welcome box, did exactly that and made us all feel very welcome. Ar Fasgadh has been an ideal base for our holiday on Arran, accommodation is beautifully presented and maintained and there was more than enough room for the six of us. The location is ideal with a short walk to the local village and beach. It is also well situated to be able to explore areas across the island by car or bus. Overall a wonderful holiday and would thoroughly recommend Ar Fasgadh to anyone looking for a holiday on Arran.
"Perfect Holiday and accommodation"

We stayed at the lodge in Jul 22 and couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay. The lodge is very well appointed and a lovely welcome basket was provided on arrival. There is everything provided to make this a home from home both inside and out. The lodge picks up the sun from early morning to late evening and the side of the lodge with sun loungers etc provided a great suntrap. The neighbours (squirrels and birds) visit regularly and provide good entertainment. Locally Blackwaterfoot is about a 15 minute walk from the lodge with small local shop and hotel topping up supplies nicely. The beach at Blackwaterfoot is excellent and great for long walks. Thanks to Gerry and family for making this lodge so wonderful.

We have had another great holiday at Ar Fasgadh as always Gerry and Susan were excellent hosts. We never fail to be impressed by the attention to detail and the level of equipment provided. We loved the updated new kitchen. The lodge provides the perfect location for a family or a cosy chill out holiday.
We enjoyed walks along the beach at Blackwaterfoot and being entertained by the birds and red squirrels that appeared daily at the feeders outside the window.
We will definitely come back.

The lodge was immaculately clean and there were provisions waiting for us which was very nice after a long journey. The location of the lodge is excellent - close to the beach and the amazing golf course Shiskine at Blackwaterfoot. I will definitely be coming back to this particular lodge.

We had the best week at Gerry and Susan’s lodge at torbeg. It’s a beautiful setting, fantastically equipped and spotlessly clean. The small touches like the welcome Prosecco, cheese, gorgeous smelling shower gel just add to a perfect air bnb stay. Thank you
"Excellent Accommodation in Torbeg"

We were blown away by how well equipped and comfortable the lodge was. Located in Torbeg some 20 minutes from Blackwaterfoot it is an excellent base for exploring this side of Arran.
We kept trying to think of something you had'nt provided and we failed.
Having rented self catering accommodation in many countries this beats them all and we would certainly recommend Ar Fasgadh

We had a great week in Torbeg over the Easter holidays. This was our second visit to the lodge and were impressed with the updates which Gerry and Susan had done over covid. Love the new kitchen! The lodge was so comfortable and had everything we needed, our two boys (4 and 6) loved the Wii when we had a wet afternoon. We felt very safe staying here, the lodge was spotless and the covid checklists show how seriously Gerry and Susan take the covid procedures which was greatly appreciated.
We all had a fantastic trip and will be back in the future.
Thanks for a great time, we all loved the hamper, the easter treats were really enjoyed by the boys!
"Lovely lodge, many welcoming touches.”

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. Gerry met us on chilly night and showed us in. Our hosts welcomed guests thoughtfully, leaving a basket with food items we might have needed and certainly appreciated. Gerry was also on hand, on phone or in person, to answer questions and help when needed. The lodge has a nice view across the Shiskine Glen and red squirrels paid us a few visits. I good spot from which to explore beautiful Arran - a coastal walk to the Kings' Cave and a lovely meal at the Kinloch Hotel were local highlights, while the northern mountains, southern lowlands and attractions of Brodick and the east are all readily accessible.
"Revisiting Arran after 30 years! Why did we wait so long?”

Arran is indeed 'Scotland in Miniature' - beautiful scenery with all the Scottish wildlife you could wish for and it doesn't matter where you are on the island you are close to the sea. As the locals say, don't look at the weather forecast, just look up at the sky.
There are numerous excellent restaurants and smaller coffee shops which served lunch. We visited Shiskine Golf & tennis club twice for lunch & Janey's next to the Arran cheese shop in Brodick (their toasted sandwiches are amazing!) Had dinner at the local Kinloch Hotel in Blackwaterfoot.
Self catering at Ar Fasgadh is 5*+. The lodge and grounds are immaculate. Gerry & Susan cater for your every need even providing a welcome basket with Arran cheese, Arran chutney, local oatcakes & Prosecco. Delicious! Washing your hands is even a luxury with Arran Aromatics hand wash & hand cream at every sink even in the utility room! From the window you can sit and watch the antics of the resident red squirrels and birds at the feeding boxes (food provided by Gerry & Susan). We'll definitely be visiting again!
"First Class Accommodation"

Ar Fasgadh is ideally located within walking distance of the sleepy village of Blackwaterfoot and its shops and restaurants.
Over the years we have stayed in many properties across Great Britain ( and beyond ), some very good, some indifferent, some very poor. Ar Fasgadh is an almost unbelievable high standard. It is spotless and the level of household and general / leisure equipment would, or at least should, tick every box, nothing seems to have been forgotten.

I can’t say enough good things about staying at Ar Fasgadh.
First off Gerry and Susan are great hosts- they meet you at the property and give you a follow up call to check you have settled in.
They have thought of everything when it comes to the house- it really is a home from home.
It is spotlessly clean and they take the COVID cleaning advice very seriously.
There is a welcome basket with Prosecco, cheese, oatcakes and a bottle of Arran milk in the fridge.
The kitchen is fully kitted out and has kettle, microwave, washing machine and drier.
The house is very warm with lots of hot water.
There are lots of small touches that make it great for kids- games, jigsaws, arts and crafts. Even litter pickers (which we love).
The bedrooms are comfortable with lovely bedding and plenty of towels.
The bathrooms even have nice Arran toiletries and hand made soaps from local producers.
The lodge is safe, warm and comfortable and in a great location. We love staying here.
